A little nostalgia is good especially when it’s packed with great music. The All New Originals Tribute to The Blues Brothers is in the house Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:30 pm at UW- Whitewater’s Young Auditorium. This exciting show will showcase the original tunes from The Blues Brothers movie, including amazing vocals, an awesome back-up band, and great impersonations of Jake and Elwood. Tickets are priced at $34, $27, and $19 for general public and $17, $13.50, and $9.50 for students. You may purchase them by calling 262-472-2222, or purchase online at www.uww.edu/youngauditorium.

Jake and Elwood Blues bring a humorous, swinging, lively show to Whitewater, crooning your favorite songs with a few new twists, a few new moves, and a clean, freshly laundered suit. The boys are joined by the sassy Bluettes, three amazing ladies with voices that’ll knock your socks off. You'll hear: "Everybody," "Shake Ya Tail Feather," "Sweet Home Chicago," "Think," "Respect," "Gimme Some Loving," and loads more! So don the sunglasses, dig out that pork pie hat, and buff up those dancing shoes, because the Blues Brothers invite you to a night of the best music, moves, and comedy at Young Auditorium.

For those who were unaware of this little morsel of information, John Belushi (Jake Blues) was a student at UW-Whitewater from 1967-68. We have contacted some alumni from his time on campus and they remember him as a rather shy young freshman who came to some house parties that may have given rise to some of the scenes in one of his best-loved comedies, Animal House. The toga party comes to mind. His comic mind was his gift to the world, and Saturday Night Live, Animal House, and The Blues Brothers will stand as his legacy of humor.

From their neatly fitted black suits to the Ray Ban sun glasses, The Blues Brothers were a signature hit of the 80’s. Though John Belushi (Jake) has gone to that Great Blues Club in the Beyond, we can still enjoy their music. Don’t miss your chance to relive the fun and come see The All New Original Tribute to The Blues Brothers presented by UW-Whitewater’s Young Auditorium! This show features many of their hit songs along with a fresh style of comedy and kicking dance moves! Tickets are priced at $34, $27, and $19 for general public and $17, $13.50, and $9.50 for students. You can purchase them by calling 262-472-2222, or purchase online at www.uww.edu/youngauditorium.
