A little nostalgia is good especially when it’s packed with great music. For those who were unaware of this little morsel of information, John Belushi (Jake Blues) was a student at UW-Whitewater from 1967-68. We have contacted some alumni from his time on campus and they remember him as a rather shy young freshman who came to some house parties that may have given rise to some of the scenes in one of his best-loved comedies, Animal House. The toga party comes to mind. His comic mind was his gift to the world, and Saturday Night Live, Animal House, and The Blues Brothers will stand as his legacy of humor.

From their neatly fitted black suits to the Ray Ban sun glasses, The Blues Brothers were a signature hit of the 80’s. Though John Belushi (Jake) has gone to that Great Blues Club in the Beyond, we can still enjoy their music.
